Is Crimson Moon on PS5, Xbox or Switch?

Short answer: four storefronts announced, only the PC date is confirmed

Crimson Moon is announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the PC release covering both Steam and the Epic Games Store. The official Loot & Progression overview trailer states exactly that platform list. Storefront pages are already live on PlayStation and Xbox as well as Steam, so this is further along than "mentioned once in a dev log."

What is not settled is timing. September 1, 2026 is confirmed for the PC release; no console release date has been published. No Nintendo Switch version has been mentioned in any official material this page has reviewed.

Where each platform stands

The Steam listing supports Windows and its requirements specify Windows 11 (64-bit). It does not list macOS or native Linux support. Steam is the only one of these storefronts that currently shows the September 1 date.

Console release date

Not confirmed. ProbablyMonsters has named PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consistently — in the June 10 Dev Log, in the platform links attached to every official Gameplay Explained video, and in the July 22 overview trailer — but has never attached a date to those versions or said they launch alongside PC. Until the studio says otherwise, treat "coming to PS5 and Xbox" and "arrives on PS5 and Xbox on September 1" as two separate claims, only the first of which is confirmed.

Steam Deck: does it run?

Unknown. The store page does not display a Steam Deck compatibility rating (Verified / Playable / Unsupported), which usually means Valve hasn't run its compatibility check yet — common for games that haven't shipped. There's no independent Deck footage to point to yet either, since the game hasn't released. Check back after launch; this section will get filled in with real Deck testing once it's possible to run.

Crossplay and cross-platform play

Not stated. Online co-op is confirmed, but ProbablyMonsters has not said whether a PC player can team up with a console player, or whether Steam and Epic Games Store players can play together. With no console release date published, this is a question that can only get a real answer once those versions have a window of their own.

Controller support

Confirmed for the Steam version. The current Steam listing marks Full Controller Support and Gamepad Recommended, and also lists support categories for DualShock and DualSense controllers. Why console versions rarely launch alongside PC for games like this

Console certification (Sony's and Microsoft's respective submission and testing processes) takes additional time on top of finishing the PC build, and studios frequently choose to ship PC first and evaluate console demand afterward — especially for a new IP without an established player base yet. That's a general pattern, not a Crimson Moon-specific commitment, but it's consistent with PS5 and Xbox having live store pages and no date while the PC date is locked in.
