Crimson Moon Preorder Guide: Editions, Bonuses and Price

Are preorders open yet?

No. As of this check, the Steam store page shows Crimson Moon as "not yet available" with a Wishlist button only — there is no way to purchase or preorder the game yet. That could change before the September 1, 2026 release date, but ProbablyMonsters hasn't said whether or when preorders will open.

Editions and what they include

ProbablyMonsters revealed two editions in the August 4, 2026 Release Date Trailer announcement:

Can I upgrade from Standard to Deluxe?

Yes. ProbablyMonsters confirmed that players who already own the Standard Edition will be able to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for $10. The announcement didn't specify the exact storefront mechanism (in-game prompt vs. a separate Steam DLC listing) or when the upgrade option goes live — this page will update once that's confirmed.

Price

What the Deluxe extras actually are

The announcement named three additions but described none of them:

• Ceremonial Armor Set — an armour set. Which of the game's four armour slots it fills, and whether it carries Boons the way other gear does, has not been stated.
• Axe of the Gods — a weapon. Whether it is one-handed or two-handed, and what Weapon Art it carries, has not been stated.
• Post-launch Expansion — no release window, no scope, no name. "Included with Deluxe" is the entire published detail.

If any of these turn out to be power-relevant rather than cosmetic, that matters for anyone weighing the Deluxe Edition against Standard. Nothing official supports a conclusion either way yet, so this page doesn't offer one. Terms like Boon and Weapon Art are defined on the glossary.

Preorder bonuses: what's actually confirmed

Nothing. The store page does not mention any preorder bonus, in-game item, or limited-time incentive for buying early — because there is currently no way to buy early. If a bonus is announced later, it typically appears in the store page's "What's included" section or in an official announcement on the updates page.

FirstLook: the one way to earn items before launch

With preorders closed, the only pre-launch reward route ProbablyMonsters has described is FirstLook, a community program introduced in Dev Log #1 and promoted in the studio's own video descriptions as a way to earn premium armor sets before launch. Dev Log #1 framed it as rewarding early Discord members with free pre-launch armor, with further details promised later.

This is separate from the Deluxe Edition — FirstLook armor is earned through community participation rather than bought, and nothing states whether it overlaps with the Deluxe Edition armour. See official links for how to reach it.

Where you will be able to buy it

Four storefronts carry a Crimson Moon listing: Steam, the Epic Games Store, the PlayStation Store, and Xbox. Only Steam currently shows the September 1, 2026 date, and none of them has opened purchases. Pricing has only ever been stated in USD and only against the Steam listing, so whether the console versions match $19.99 / $29.99 is unconfirmed. See platforms.
