Crimson Moon Price, Early Access and Demo
What Crimson Moon costs on Steam, whether it is launching in Early Access, and whether a playable demo exists before the September 2026 release.

How much does it cost?
$19.99 USD for the Standard Edition, or $29.99 USD for the Deluxe Edition (Ceremonial Armor Set, Axe of the Gods, and a Post-launch Expansion), per the August 4, 2026 Release Date Trailer announcement. Standard owners can upgrade to Deluxe for $10 — see Preorder & Editions for the full breakdown. There is no discount, launch promotion, or regional pricing note displayed on the store page as of this check. Neither edition is currently purchasable, so these are announced prices, not yet transaction prices.
What Early Access means here
Nothing — Crimson Moon is not launching in Early Access. The store listing shows a standard full release planned for September 1, 2026, with no Early Access tag or roadmap-to-1.0 messaging.
Standard now or Deluxe later? The maths
The two routes cost the same. Deluxe outright is $29.99. Standard at $19.99 plus the confirmed $10 upgrade is also $29.99. There is no announced penalty for starting with Standard and deciding later, and no announced discount for committing to Deluxe up front.
Two caveats, both unresolved: ProbablyMonsters hasn't said when the upgrade path goes live, and hasn't said whether the upgrade stays available indefinitely. If either matters to you, the safe read is that buying Deluxe directly is the only route confirmed to work on day one.
Is there a demo?
Not confirmed as of this check. The store page does not currently show a demo option. If a demo appears — for example, tied to a Steam Next Fest — it will usually show up as a separate "Download Demo" button on the same store page. This section will be updated the moment that changes.
In the meantime the closest official substitute is ProbablyMonsters' own Gameplay Explained video series, which walks through the run loop, loot and progression, the hub, and the build system using footage from the game. That is not the same as playing it, but it is the developer showing the actual product rather than a cinematic trailer. Links on official links; what the videos establish is summarised on gameplay preview.
What about prices on PS5, Xbox and Epic?
Not stated. The $19.99 / $29.99 figures come from an announcement made in the context of the Steam listing. Crimson Moon also has listings on the PlayStation Store, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store, but no official pricing has been published for any of them, and no console release date exists yet either. Assume nothing about parity until the storefronts show numbers.
Will the price go up after Early Access?
Not applicable — see above, the game isn't launching in Early Access, so there's no Early-Access-to-1.0 price increase to plan for. $19.99 is the listed full-release price.
Refunds: the two-hour rule
Steam's standard refund policy applies to Crimson Moon like any other title: you can request a refund within 14 days of purchase as long as you've played under 2 hours. For a run-based Souls-like with a hub, a build system and dynamic difficulty, two hours is usually enough to judge the core combat feel and whether the controls click for you, but likely isn't enough to see how builds diverge across several runs — which is the part the developer describes as the game's variety. Factor that in if you're on the fence.
